Darts Statistics & Averages Explained

Start a New Darts Game

If you want to get better at darts, the numbers tell the story. DartScore.uk records every dart you throw and turns it into the same statistics the professionals use. Here is what each one means — and how we calculate it.

The 3-dart average

The headline darts statistic. It is the average number of points you score per turn of three darts. We work it out as your total points scored divided by darts thrown, multiplied by three. A pub player might average 40–60; a strong club player 70–90; the world elite push past 100.

180s and high scores

A 180 is the maximum — three treble-twenties in one turn. We count a 180 whenever a turn's three darts add up to 180, and we also track your highest single turn. These are most relevant in 501 and 301 and in High Score.

Checkout and the double finish

In countdown games you finish by reducing your score to exactly zero. With the optional double out rule, the final dart must land in a double. Your checkout percentage is how often you take out a finish when you have a shot at one — the difference between winning and losing close legs. Learn the finishing rules in our 501 / 301 guide.

How DartScore.uk tracks it all

Every finished game is saved on your device automatically — so your averages, 180s and history are available even offline, with no account required. Open My Stats from the in-app menu to see your numbers per game mode. Sign in and your stats also sync to your profile and feed the global leaderboards.

Stats by game mode

Different games reward different skills. Sharpen your scoring in 501, your doubles in Bob's 27, and your all-round accuracy in Cricket — then watch the averages climb.
